The Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager Food Contact Compliance (m/f/d) within the Food and Food Contact Materials Division, is responsible for the project management of food contact compliance and notification projects, and the implementation of such projects based on global regulatory knowledge and experience in the food and food contact service area.

Role and responsibilities
  • Conduct global regulatory compliance assessments via interpretation of existing food and/or food contact regulations and searches of regulatory databases
  • Develop the strategy for obtaining compliance and understanding what information is required to complete food contact assessments globally, especially in the EU
  • Authoring compliance reports, third party certification letter for compliance, and/or statements of safe use
  • Project manage food contact projects from first client contact to completion
  • Review and provide comments on peer authored compliance reports
  • Liaise with internal toxicologists and external analytical laboratories in order to complete compliance projects
  • Author or assist in authoring EFSA Dossiers, Food Contact Notifications (FCNs), and Global Food Contact Petitions
  • Experience in conducting dietary exposure calculations
  • Deliver projects in the timeline agreed to with the client
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on the dynamic food contact regulations through seminars and networking events
  • Participate in conference calls with clients to understand client needs
  • Author client proposals based upon project needs
Qualifications
  • Minimum BS/MS Degree (Advanced degree) in a scientific discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in conducting regulatory compliance reviews for food and/or food contact materials
  • Familiar with the authoring and submission of Food Contact Notifications and/or Global Food Contact Petitions
  • Experience in understanding analytical chemistry and/or polymer chemistry
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ideally has experience in a consulting environment
  • Sound scientific principles, flexibility, and willingness to learn.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate within global organization
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, assisting in drafting regulatory reports, and preparation of notifications to Competent Authorities
  • Must be self-motivated and effective with time management
  • Ability to work within a matrixed team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong ability to execute against multiple projects with competing deadlines
